Good articles from the previous IELI Gazette magagines

Uncategorized

This is Kohsuke Uchino taking this Newspaper Studio Course again this semester.

I would like to tell you about some good articles from the previous IELI Gazette magazines: one is written by Souichi and the other one is written by Rachel I Gertzog. Souichi wrote about the history of New York City because he said that the city was the capital of the world and many people would think the same way. He just described a little piece of the history of Manhattan when original Indians had been living on this island and Henry Hudson had come from the Netherlands. It is a short story of Manhattan, however, it attracts us to be curious about the history of NYC as long as we are living in the city.

The other article is about Thanksgiving day last year, 2012. Today is November 1st and Thanksgiving day is on 28th of this month and this annual event is one of the biggest and one of the most exciting events in the U.S. so if you are in this country on the day, you will have a great opportunity to enjoy the wonderful day. Rachel wrote about the Thanksgiving party, being held by the Hunter College IELI office, in which more than 80 students and 30 teachers / administrators from over 20 countries participated. Therefore, she listed “Thanksgiving Wishes” that is interesting indeed but I have no idea if she has made all the wishes. What are your wishes for the following one?
